International Astronomical Union
33rd General Assembly
IAU 2027
August 10th – 19th 2027 – Auditorium Parco della Musica, Rome, Italy
The 33rd General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) will take place at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in the timeless city of Rome.
Rome, a city steeped in millennia of history, stands as a symbol of human ingenuity, intellectual pursuit, and cultural richness. As a historical centre of Western civilisation and a cradle of scientific inquiry since antiquity, Rome serves as an inspirational backdrop for exploring the universe’s mysteries.
Astronomers, educators, students, communicators, outreach professionals, and policy makers from across the globe will engage in rigorous discourse, collaborative endeavours, and the dissemination of cutting-edge research. With a commitment to expanding the horizons of human understanding and fostering international cooperation, the 33rd IAU GA 2027 pledges to elevate the discourse surrounding celestial inquiry and propel the field into new realms of discovery.
As delegates gather in Rome in August 2027, they will not only participate in a scientific conference but also embark on a journey through time and space, tracing the footsteps of Galileo, Kepler, and countless other luminaries who have looked to the heavens from this storied city. In this spirit of exploration and homage to the legacy of discovery, we invite you to join us in Rome, where tradition meets innovation, and where the stars themselves seem to align in celebration of human curiosity and endeavour.
